Trouble with some system files Windows 7 (Sp1) Home Premium

Tried to install Snagit v 12.2.2 but the setup flagged a Parser error and would not install! I run sfc /scannow which reported some corrupted files.
Files that could not be repaired;
Cannot repair member file [l:24{12}]"catsrvps.dll"
Cannot repair member file [l:20{10}]"Defrag.exe"
Cannot repair member file [l:22{11}]"regedit.exe"
Cannot repair member file [l:22{11}]"cscript.exe"
Can I run Startup Repair Tool from a Recovery Disk or the Windows Installation disk, which I do have, or will the Starup Repair Tool delete any data or programs?

No. It is safe to use.

Not sure why you would want to run the Startup Repair Tool, when you can start Windows OK, I assume?
If the files can't be repaired it may well be a sign that the hard disk is deteriorating. Have you tried running chkdsk /r by starting up from a Windows disk and starting Recovery Console?
Also running a drive fitness test on the hard disk. Most hard disk manufacturers have a copy you can download for free as an ISO. Or use the DFT from IBM/Hitachi which tests any disk.
