Allocation of drive letter?

[link to this post]

I have set my system to back up data to a USB flash drive. I need to set the backup program (Dell backup) so that it always uses the same drive letter. But every time I plug in the USB stick it is given a different letter and this confuses the backup program, which refuses to work. I have the usual C: drive and no others, but so far the USB stick has been allocated D: E: and F: Why is this and how can I fix it to the same letter each time I plug in? It's Win 8.1.

That method works for me and my various USB & spinning drives.

Just go to My Computer/ Manage/ Disk Management, highlight the drive as of now, right-click & Change Drive Letter.
