microsoft wireless display

I have just installed the new *Microsoft wireless display adapter* on my TV. However I cannot find the option* enable wireless display* on my laptop running windows 8.1. My laptop had windows 7 initially, then windows 8 and finally 8.1.
To install it one has to use the charm> >device>project>add wireless display, but I cannot find *add wireless display*. Ironically I can connect the wireless adapter to my Android phone! I am hoping that win 10 upgrade when it comes may resolve the issue.
