Windows 10 crashes / hangs after updates

I leave my Windows 10 PC on standby overnight, and it applied some updates last night. This morning the PC was on, the monitor was in power saving mode, and neither the keyboard nor mouse would wake it up. I had to long-press the power button to force shut it to down. When it booted back up, Windows reported it was finishing applying the updates.

This is the second time Windows 10 updates have caused this so it's more than a one-off for me now.

Has anyone else had this?

Yeah, certainly not widespread from what I can tell so maybe it only affects certain configurations.
