that will be down to the user base, these days they have that horrible telemetry so they know what OS people are running, since vista was a failure at a takeup level the amount of chrome users would have been insignificant compared to XP.

Ironically i recently updated to win8 at a time when people are leaving it for win10, win8's userbase in a few years will probably be a trickle, so that may get EOL early by google as well.

True, but of course no consolation to the small yet significant Vista user base, many of whom I'm sure were planning to get a new OS/PC before April 2017 but are seemingly being pushed into it early by Google.

Firefox will probably gain a few customers out of it though.

Unless you disable the horrible telemetry,l in Windows 7 and 8 it is easy enough, just don't download the updates that does it.
