I have been using firfox since windows xp and I have just switched to edge, reason being after you have scrolled a few pages on facebook in firefox it starts slowing down and clicking a link to refresh the page gets slower on firefox, not experiencing this on edge. Also the forums seem snappier on a second tab in edge than firefox.
Also I use a high contrast theme in windows which firefox doesn't display correctly lots of icons missing eg on face book but all present and correct on edge, so I am switching to edge now that it has the adblock plus extension.
Anyone else seeing firefox lagging?

I have not used Firefox on Windows for a long time, i thought it went downhill years ago, i use chrome, well a chrome clone. Facebook is a little on the slow side anyway for some reason, forums seems slow to start up anyway and have been for months, fines once they are loaded in.
I used Edge for a couple of days when i was using Windows 10, but i just do nto like it,k lack of extensions I use and the UI itself just put me off.

I'd vote for Chrome too. It's my browser of choice on all OSs. Compared to other browsers it is fast and lean.

Where do the Chrome clones send it ...???
If it's going anywhere, google is probably the safest.

Ive just discovered you can change Edges default search from bing to google in settings, now that's handy as bing isn't very good.

Your evidence for that is what and where?

I'm not getting into a debate here. I'm sure that any intelligent person can research these alternative browsers if they wish to.

You can for most versions of windows - but if you buy a tablet with a smaller screen then they can come with a slightly different version of Windows that is locked to Bing for edge and IE.

don't use Google search engine and it will not send it anywhere. Chrome itself do not send data, the only data is when you first install it, so Google knows how many is installed.
I presume the settings like use a web service to resolve navigation errors or use a prediction service to load pages more quickly will send data, other wise they will not work,. but Firefox offers those services as well. Just turn them off if worried.

Not sure don't see what not, there is a list of "Discovered" search engines, if you visit duck duck go then its discovered I would imagine you could set it as default.
