Widows 10 Text and scrolling Lag

I have an issue with text lag where the keyboard stroke does not instantly display as text.

It happens in the Search field and On Line Web pages including scrolling down.

There have been many Forums with the topic but no one has given an answer.

My first thoughts because Windows 10 appears to be cloud based was to upgrade my broadband from 7 Mb/s to faster PlusNet Fibre at 38Mb./s.
This action appears to make the matter worse.

Is it down to my aging Laptop 1.6GH 2 GB Ram.

Smart phones , I Pads, and Kindles appear to present no problem.

It is going to be doing searches each time a letter is pressed - the actual amount of data is going to be small so a "faster" connection is unlikely to make any difference. What is the latency like on your connection? If you go to a command prompt and "ping www.google.co.uk" what does the "time=" portion come back with?

It may also be that it is using Bing as the default search engine so might perform better if it was google?
