Outlook problem

I have a sub-account in Outlook which has always worked well. Now it won't load and I see that the password field is empty. when I go into the settings. When I put it in it won't save. Also, I can't change the 'leave messages on server' tick box.. I have the latest version (not the beta). The account isn't compromised as I can still use my password for the webmail site.
Any ideas?

Sounds like you need to make a registry edit. If you Google the issue, you will probably find the answer you are looking for...

Which Outlook? Have you just installed Win 10 Fall Creator version (1709)?

I just installed it & Outlook 2003 stopped working completely.

Interesting. What exactly failed? Outlook refused to start or what?

Have you managed to get Outlook 2003 working again?

I have some elderly friends who both use Office 2003 fine on their Win 10 systems. Not aware, yet, of recent Outlook issues, and don't know whether they've been updated to 1709 (I must get them to check).

Outlook 2003 loaded but all you could do was read existing d/loaded emails. Everything else said "This op. is not available", some said "reinstall".

@cheshire_man: Thanks for pointing me at that article. It saved my life . I knew there was a Repair but was looking in wrong place. I was looking in CP/Mail when it was in the obvious place, CP/Programs/Office 2003.

All OK now .
