Very odd.

I get frequent security updates and patches.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up. BQM

It's certainly a puzzle and how you dont have a manual update button and looks like Bob's hasnt updated either.

In reply to a post by XRaySpeX:
Of course it has, I never said it hadn't! I'm simply querying why it hasn't auto updated to 1809 yet like the rest of you.

Sheesh, who'd have thought such a simple query would be so convoluted to answer?

There are a number of reasons why you might not have updated to 1809 when it was released last autumn. The upgrade is blocked for some hardware configurations due to compatibility issues. Details are somewhere on the Microsoft site and have also been reported in The Register and a number of other places. Problems, possibly now resolved, included system where objects such as Desktop, Documents and the like have been relocated to drives other than C: and there were reports of folders being deleted.

BTW the first two digits, 18 in this case, are the year of release, and the last pair, the month although I think 1809 might have slipped to October and 1903 is running two months late due to various problems.

Settings/windows update/check for updates.
As I said earlier there is no such thing on my Win 10 Home system.

That really does sound odd. Can you post a screen capture of your Windows Update page in Settings?

Oliver.

In reply to a post by XRaySpeX:
Then why would it be that I'm still on 1803 & not 1809?
In reply to a post by NICK_ADSL_UK:
Available for any user who manually selects “Check for updates” via Windows Update.
Where would I find that? It is often "Checking for updates" of its own accord. There is no explicit “Check for updates” button to manually select on the Settings / Windows Update page.

build 1809 and 1803 you have the check for updates option found by right clicking on the desktop/ personalize /home/update and security/check for updates
or download from my link above the update build tool

@RobertoS:
  1. Do you have a manual “Check for updates” on the Settings / Windows Update page?
  2. Are you on Win 10 Home or Pro?

Home. I’m going to look at the options this evening but can’t at the moment. (I might be able to in an hour, but maybe not).

My laptop is a Dell. What are you using? I also have an ASUS which is rarely used but has been used quite a lot since October, so will look at that as well.
