Windows 10 21H1

[link to this post]

Just upgraded my 20H2 laptop to 21H1 and it was a very small update using windows update more like a monthly update. Having said that after enabling the Insider beta channel there were lots of driver updates from Intel and HP (it's an HP laptop) in windows update which required a reboot.

Then came the main event with an experience pack update and the feature update to 21H1. I cant see many new features although these may become apparent after using it more but it seems to be more quality fixes than new features.

I run my own remote DNS server so DNS over HTTPS is of interest to me. 21H1 is not getting DoH though so it looks like a 21H2 feature. That said, DoH is well supported in browsers which mitigates the need somewhat.

First thing I configure is DoH when installing a browser if it supports it.

More about activating features that was in the last update and also pushing a load more bugs.
MS really should concentrate on getting rid of the bugs instead of adding more stuff that is not needed.
Still at least they seem to have come to some of their senses, by getting rid of 3D paint.

I am on 20h2, os build 19042.685, I only went onto that because I decided to do clean install last year, I have software installed that stops the updates, updates are paused until 11/11/2099

I mean installed as default, it will still be available in the store but will not be installed as default now. Now get rid of cortana and some other stuff, including their telemetry and Windows 10 would be ok

Cortana can be uninstalled now, but it is still not straight forward.

Im still on 2004 version. Never bothered to update when the feature updates come out (unless it forces me to). Only update once they stop supporting the version im on.
