Windows 11 or what ever it is going to be called

[link to this post]

Not doubt it will be Windows 11. So what do people think of the early build? I was surprised when I saw it was going to be called Windows 11, since Windows 10 was going to be the last Windows. Anyway, my first thoughts.
Not found of the new start menu, not that I like Windows 10 start menu, but the new one looks worse, I am glad the taskbar can be changed back to the left.
When I ever update to it I will use a third party start menu like I do now.

It looks very macOS like with the rounded corners, it doesn't bother me if they are rounded or not, I don't really look at them. i have read that performance is slightly better than Windows 10, maybe they should do that with Windows 10 then.

At the end of the day, it is Windows 10 with some tweaks, I do like the new snapping feature, that looks useful.

My view with Windows is that MS added too much into it, certainly with Windows 10 and all the apps and other gunk like Cortana, I just want a OS to run the software I want to run, yes I know people are different and there are people out there that likes all the gunk and may use it, but then we should have a choice on set up.

While i would like to have a play with the new OS on another machine or even a virtual machine, I would not be in a rush to update this machine to it.

There's a Webinar by MS on Win 11 on 24 June @ 11am ET. Think that's 4pm GMT.

Have you not seen the leeks of it? There is a ISO out and there are videos of it on YouTube, it is an early version,

I have seen the leaks in screen shot form on a few Chinese sites. I wouldn't DL the ISO never know what is in it. I might watch the Live Stream Launch see what they say. Looks like a Mac clone from what I have seen.

I have read a bit about it, even downloaded the checker to be nosy and my all powerful machine with a load of ram and powerful video card is not compatible smile. It seems to be happening to a lot of people.
Something to do with TPM2.0, but my machine has that, in the CPU.

Not bothered to be honest, I have little interest in updating to it, I do not like the start menu for a start.
just like to be nosy.

It is having the consumer version of teams, if you use Windows 11 home then you have to have a MS account and leave the machine connected to the net on set up.
Timeline is gone, not a bad thing.
Android apps will be in the store, no idea how they will run, I presume some sort of emulator.
Nothing there to get me excited, but then Windows have not got me excited since XP

My desktop lacks a TPM 2.0 module but apparently you can get them from Scan although they are on back order for my Gigabyte Motherboard. Checker said not compatible but my laptop HP is compatible.

I've enabled TPM 2.0 in the BIOS and it seems to be on but still not compatible. I wonder if there is a tool with more detail as to what is stopping it.

My Desktop is now compatible. Problem was not TPM 2.0 but I was booting from MBR disk and not GPT. Once I ran MBR2GPT for Disk 0 in System32 on Win 10 and re-tested I was getting a green compatible but lost my dual boot option. Also I will have to lookup what WinRErepair is all about as the above advised me to run it.

I had to look up a couple of acronyms there. Which then led me to having to look up "exabyte". That's a bit large.

Connections: OnePlus 8 Pro, 4G max 165Mbps down, 24Mbps up on Three Mobile, and B311 4G router, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.
