I have 'Controlled Folder Access' enabled on my Windows 11 and todays updates caused 2 protected memory access blocks

App or process blocked: DismHostexe
Protected folder: \Device\HarddiskVolume3

App or process blocked: wuaucltcore.exe
Protected folder: \Device\HarddiskVolume1

Does controlled folder access work OK for you? Couple of years ago someone whose opinion I trust advised against enabling it, for the reason that false positives would likely cause random odd failures in various applications. and they would be difficult to trace and fix due to the very limited diagnostics available. Maybe things have improved recently?

Its been fine up to this point, if I get an access violation from a controlled folder from a trusted application I simply allow access. These specific violations were totally unexpected as they were from Microsoft executables while doing the monthly OS update.

(Sorry for the delay responding: family crisis.) Thanks for the info. If it now gives reasonable diagnostics and can be overridden, I'll give it a go when things at my end have settled down back to normal.
