MS Office/Outlook Reply issue

[link to this post]

Hi,

I have an issue with MS Outlook and the ability to reply from "any" e-mail address.

I currently have Office 2016 (and therefore Outlook 2016) installed on my Windows 11 PC, I also have a copy of Office 365 installed on a MacBook Pro.

When using Office 2016 I can reply from "any" e-mail address I wish via this option, however I cannot find the same option under Outlook 365 on my Mac.

Is this an Apple issue or an update to Office from Microsoft?

I asked in the official Microsoft community but didn't get any clear reply.

Thanks in advance

CJT.

Office for Mac is quite different to Windows, and Outlook is one of the bigger differences. On Windows the 2016 version will have a From field, have you enabled this?

The first picture on this page shows for both Windows Outlook (now known as "Classic Outlook") and the outlook web used by corporate users or outlook.com free email.

Office looks very different in Mac compared to Windows.

The 2016 version (from where the screenshot was taken) works fine with ‘other email address’, however I can’t find the same option on the Mac.

There are many features missing in Excel on Mac Office as well and I think Word and PowerPoint are different.

There is a Windows equivalent called "New Outlook" that comes with Windows 11; it replaced the "mail" and "calendar" apps. The Mac and New Windows versions are very similar to Outlook on the web (OWA).

It should show From in the email window (create, forward or reply) when more than one address is set up, does this page help:

If its like the web version, you need to "pop out" the mail into a separate window, and then find the Options tab, where enabling From is a checkbox option. Once enabled it should be visible in the normal reading/creating panel.
