Speeds

When I download a file I usually get a download speed of around 260KB/s. My line is syncing at 8128Kbps and when I reboot my router and download a file I get a download speed of around 600KB/s, this speed lasts for a few hours then goes back to around 260KB/s. Why is it that I get better speeds for I few hours when I restart my router?

What make/model of router are you using, and are you running in NAT mode or routed IP?

If the same symptoms persist regardless of time of day when you do a reboot it would tend to indicate something at your end is causing the slow down - most likely the router. It could be something else, of course, but the router is a good place to start from what you've said so far.

The WAG354G works well on Max. The major downside is the router logs are far too small and don't gve you enough history to diagnose anything.

If you want to see your stats use the following URL:

It may be worth doing a factory reset, if you are having ongoing problems.
