Anyone failing to connect this morning?

[link to this post]

When I turned my modem/router on this morning (Easter Monday about 9am) the line syncs ok, but it fails to log on to the Zen network and get an IP address. It was working ok up to last night (when I turned off the modem overnight).

Is anyone else having problems? This is on the Oxford exchange.

Zen support are offline for the bank holiday, so I can't tell if it's at my end or theirs ....

Further thoughts - it might be just co-incidence, but my billing cycle runs from the 10th of the month to the 9th of the month - and today is the 9th, the last day of the billing cycle.

I recently had some problems which resulted in Zen giving me a month's refund, which was supposed to mean my payment on the 10th May was waived (they thought it would not be processed in time to take effect for the payment due 10th April).

However, my wild guess is that the refund against my account resulted in no money being taken from my bank account today, so the system thinks I haven't paid, and so has cut me off ...

That's just a guess, but since a line test from my end looks good, and the ADSL sync is good, ...

Guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow morning - bummer, I had a lot of online work planned for today.

Usual troubleshooting routine applies: can't remember the exact details but there are two test logins you can try: bt_test@startup_domain will confirm that you have a connection to BT's IPstream network, and bt_test_user@whatever_domain_zen_use will confirm that you have a connection as far as Zen. If either of those doesn't work there's probably a problem inside BTwholesale, but you'll need Zen to sort it; [edit: if they do both work then it looks like you've already worked out the reason why your account doesn't work]

[detailed links most welcome]

They have probably done their usual of giving a credit note which seems to be ignored by their billing system when payment is taken.

Moved from BTopenworld to ZeN - several years ago. Delighted (most of the time)
Zen 8000 Active - speed capped by BT, usage capped by Zen

Possibly but the timing seems very tight - all these things happening on one day and that a Bank Holiday. I have no knowledge of Zen and am speaking from banking industry knowledge.

If you use portal you could log in and take a look at the status of your account. This would give an indication of your status at Zen.

Other than that try the test logins mentioned above - if you get logged in on these try your Zen username afterwards. Could also try the old 30 minute reboot (turn off for 30 mins and try again) - although having the router off all night should rule this type of stale session out - but please try!

Sorry this is as much as I can do as I'm not at work atm.
