Some feedback regarding speeds

[link to this post]

I'm just curious but is this:

Date 22/06/07 21:34:30
Speed Down 5722.55 Kbps ( 5.6 Mbps )
Speed Up 374.04 Kbps ( 0.4 Mbps )
Port 8095
Server speedtest1.adslguide.org.uk

Good for an 8Mbps max connection? I'm totally happy with it, but I don't know if it is good or bad or fair. What do you think?

I don't know how these things alter, but it has increased a lot from yesterday too!

Depends on what you're actual line attenuation / distance from the exchange is for us to guestimate what the best you can recieve is.

The best way to look at it is that you are close to the ADSL Max maximum of 7.1Mb, so just enjoy the 'unthrottled', 'uncapped' connection! (This from a stable 1.5Mbit / flakey 2Mbit user - Although saying that I've been at 2Mbit for a bit over a week for the first time, ever!)

Maximum I have got from the TB speedtester at quiet times with an 8128 sync is about 6.3 meg so yes those figures don't look too bad.

On 8 meg, recent download speed. I'm not on Zen though, but I presume that makes very little difference.

Here's my latest:

http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/results/id/118267597843556419144.html

In general, my download speeds are between 6.5 and 5 mbps. I've only passed the 6.5 mark a couple of times and some days show occassional slowdowns. On the whole, I'm chuffed.
