The latency seems to jump when it gets on to the Telewest/Blueyonder network not on Zen's, so getting a MAC is unlikely to help you much.

The time spike is for IP 194.117.136.217.

RIPE reports this is owned by Telewest/Blueyonder/VirginMedia, and so not on the Zen networlk. Moving could change the routing of course, but there is no guarantee of that, and you could end with the same problem elsewhere.
