Just migrated from Nildram today

[link to this post]

Well, after being with Nildram all the time I've had an internet connection, I recently took the plunge and migrated away when I found out Tiscali had bought Nildram.

The whole migration process was as smooth as silk.

In fact, I only realised that the migration had completed - and ahead of schedule too - when I started getting download speeds over twice the max I used to have with Nildram (I was on a 2Mb/s connection with Nildram, I'm on 8000 Pro with Zen)!

One strange thing I noticed though. Even though I had migrated this morning, I was still, according to the Speedtouch 546 I bought from Zen, connected to the network via Nildram's DNS servers using my Nildram login. I had to disconnect and then reconnect with my Zen login and password before it stated that I was connected to Zen's servers and I was able to send e-mails successfully.

Does that sound right?

Anyway, I hope everything goes as smoothly for me with Zen as they have done so far.

I've been particularly impressed with the response time from Customer Services. I've been getting responses typically within half an hour of sending them an e-mail (thanks to Amar Hussein, the person who's been responding to my numerous queries to date for that).

Right, I'm off to download that Mandriva Linux ISO file that I've had my eye on for a while now!!

I think its normal to be able to login to the new and old ISP for a short time.
