I've justed downloaded and installed this new firmware. At first everything seemed fine, then I realised my wireless wasn't working. I looked at the setup page for my router and its now listed as a DG834 v3 firewall router, rather then a DG834G v3 wireless router.

The file I downloaded was dg834v3_dg834gv3_4_01_37, but the file thats inside is named only DG834V3_4.01.37.img (missing the G). Is this the wrong firmware for my wireless router?, in which case were can I get the G version?

Since arriving at Zen Oct 2006 I've used a DG 834Gv3 .I've had what i would consider to be generally good connectivity with few loss of syncs (although not perfect)

Mid Feb 2008 experienced increasingly frequent loss of syncs. Checked all the usual suspects without success and eventually updated to v4.01.28 .Since then .. perfection.

Fixed it, it was a thermal problem that occurs with the DG834G. Apparently if its left on too long (days on end) and then the power is cut off (I pulled the plug just after the firmware had finished upgrading) the wireless part of the router stops working until it cools down.

I just put it outside my window for 10 minutes and its working now

Cheule, are you using the full ASCII set for the WPA PSK? If so, try it using just alpha-numeric characters (a-z, A-Z, 0-9) instead. Some hardware does not correctly hash non-alpha-numerics, and as a result you will be unable to authenticate. I had the same problem between a DG834G and a Toshiba laptop with built-in Wi-fi.

I don't know if it was just coincidence but, after an uptime running into hundreds of hours, I started to get random disconnects within an hour or two of installing .37

I reverted to .30 after several disconnects overnight and I noticed immediately that the connection speed jumped from around 3000 to around 4500 - which is what I would expect in the daytime but the SNR didn't drop despite the increase in speed.

I suppose I should do more tests but, with ADSL-Max equating to 5 seconds of madness meaning 3 days of hell, I'm inclined to leave well alone.

Is it possible that, in curing this very specific "AR7 issue", the latest firmware has been to the detriment of borderline, but otherwise stable, lines?

I've just tried to upgrade the router with this Firmware.
I Keep getting an error message saying Internet Explorer Unable to display the page around half way through the process.
When I check the Router Status, it still shows the last one I had which was the 4.01.30
Can anyone help me on this??

Got anything like a pop-up blocker enabled? Turn that off.

I have it set to accept Pop Ups From there.

I shall disable that and let you know.

Edit, Update; second try and I struck out yet again.

I saw the lights flashing but when I checked the router status, it was the same 4.01.30


Would appreciate any help.

I did disable pop up blocker.

192.168.0.1 is also on the list of allowed webpages too.

Hi,

I originally tried a generated key, but when it was clear I was getting nowhere, I started using simple passwords like "balloon1522" or "bogiesupmynose20".....you know, things like that. No messing around with case, no complex strings. I even went down to just using simple 8 letter words on both PC's and Wii and Router, but it just won't have it.

I did previously mention concerns about getting a PS3 to work using WPA, I now realise this will be a non issue as it also has an ethernet port. As both the router and PS3 will be under the telly I'll just use that.

Each time the same thing, the Internet Explorer Cannot Display The Page.

Also the 4.01.37 does not seem to be uploaded properly.

I am using AVG Internet Security, is there anything there that might cause this?
