Zen with provisional number

[link to this post]

Hi,

Does any one know how long it takes to get broadband enabled?

I am having my BT line connected on the 24th and I have a provisional number.

Can I apply for Broadband now and if my number changes update Zen?

Or can Zen deal with BT and get Broadband enabled at the same time as connecting my phone line?

Thanks
Nick

Hi Nick,

Happy to see you are looking at Zen.

Broadband typically takes 5 working days to be enabled on an active telephone line.

However there is a method we use which is typically adopted with Home/Office movers which does allow for the simultaneous delivery of broadband and telephone line.

Further details can be obtained through this link:-

http://www.zen.co.uk/Broadband/zenbroadband/simultaneous-provide.aspx

Although the scenario you've presented doesn't represent a typical Home/Office move, we can still adopt this process in some form. It does require a little bit of extra work our end but, if it helps you out, we'll be more than happy look at this path

Unfortunately there is a risk. Any order we submit in advance of the telephone line installation is built against the provisional telephone number. If your telephone number changes after we've submitted our order, our order will be delayed or even cancelled.

Should the order be cancelled, it is more than likely we'll restart our order once your telephone line has been installed and active.

Best thing to do is speak to our Sales team to place the order with us and, explain what you are looking to do and take it from there.

Thanks,
Brian

May be worth adding my own experience - having moved house twice in the past two years or so, I gave Zen the provisional number each time and each time it proved to be the number I actually got.

Thank you very much for both your replies.

I will get on and speak to Sales tomorrow.

I have been a user of Zen for a few years now, and I have found them to be faultless. So it was a no brainer really when it came to picking Zen for my own property.

Thanks

Nick
