Congestion Issues

Hi All,

Please be aware that due to high demand for streaming coverage of sporting events, congestion at various points on the internet is resulting in slow speeds for some users during peak viewing periods.

There is sufficient capacity on some elements of the network, but even within Zen�s network we have identified some internet links that are getting saturated during peak periods.

Zen is actively rebalancing users on the network to make maximum use of the available capacity to alleviate the situation.�

Does that mean then that this claim:

"The Zen core network has no contention, enabling consistent speed levels even at peak times"

...is in fact wrong and that like so many things (regrettably) at Zen these days things aren't actually as good as they were?

Not neccessarily, "core" does not equal a particular link to (for example) BBC. My speeds on the thinkbroadband speedtester are fine (~6.5Mbps).

I have to say I have not had any problems, I by the way am not an expert but find the service very good. The change over to 21cn what ever did not work for me as I think I was too far from the exchange but I am Happy with what I have and I don't think Zen can do anything about this . I have to be honest I do not know how to do a BT test as no one ever tells you in simple terms. This is a site full of people who know the way to do things but don't seem to want to tell us how too.

My ping's gone up to 140 again at the same time today! No gaming for me I wonder how many days this will last
