Any news on getting Scotland outage fixed??

Posting this from my phone. Zen telephone support message says they are getting reports of a BT outage in Scotland and Northern Ireland - so I and my family are out of luck at the moment.

Anybody spoken to tech support and found anything out???

Must be a specific area (or areas) of Scotland.

No problem at the Hamilton exchange - I have been connected all day (to date).

I am in north east and loss of internet happened around 7pm, called tech support Plusnet who advised me they have been advised that one of the major pipes is down on BT wholesale network.

The hoped for it to be fixed in an hour but to take that figure with a pinch of salt.

Currently using my Vodafone Dongle to be able to post

Some very northern England locations appear to be affected too.

This is the last update from BT:

[29th October 2010 - 20.12]

BT Wholesale confirm just some of the areas affected are:

* Northern Ireland
* Scotland
* London
* Newcastle

BT are unable to confirm when the next update will be at this time, but all their efforts are being put into resolving this MSO.

No further updates from BT Wholesale at this time, engineers are still working on the issue. Next update is due at 00.30.

Still out here in Northern Ireland, hopefully it'll get resolved soon

Been off all night here in North East. Just tried again now and back connected. Couldn't even use Zen or Plusnet Dialup backup, must have been a major pipe gone down.
