More outages this morning

[link to this post]

And more outages this morning;

01:28 for a few min's

02:28 - 02:52.

Nothing listed again, and this was something that hit all BTWS ISP's.

Any ideas ?

Hi,

Those outages correspond to BT upgrading the capacity on all L-NWS RASs, which should hopefully fix the recent congestion issues on these RASs.
See http://status.aaisp.net.uk/?incident=601 for more details.

Thanks,

Thanks for that Stuart.

Zen - take note of the level of information at that link...

It wouldn't go a miss for you do start doing the same - just like with the MSO text. Giving me a list of phone numbers tells me *nothing* when I have to rely on others (including A&A) for a *full* incident log or text.

I know A&A may be a smaller/more personal operation but you could learn a lot from them in the way they publish information...

People of Zen management land - Take note...

Morning IamQ,

I agree that more information needs to be supplied and we are working on a new way to do this for our customers. In the meantime, I will be manually updating feeds and posts to let you know what is happening and as always, keep the feedback coming.

Kindest Regards,

Thanks for the update - it just gets quite annoying sometimes not knowing what's broken, and why.

I acept that maybe 80%+ of your customers wont have a clue what many of the issues are and may not care, but there are a number of us that do and do understand the wonderful way in which BT works where it would be a huge help.

Another area of note is the PEW notices - what you post again says very little but if you read my post 'PEW Notice' that's what I'm expecting to get from you as my provider not just a list of phone numbers that are going be taken out within a time band.

Now I understand that often BTWS provide woeful PEW notices (I get some stuff direct due to work) and they don't actually have any information in.(Like the night they took one of my WES1000's down against a PEW that had nothing to do with any of our kit or exchanges.)

But I know from others they do provide lots of info.

If you want any more good ideas please do feel free to PM me I'm sure I could think of lots of other little things!

have a good weekend : )

And the last 2 days have seen 2 futher outages and loss of PPP

I'm starting to get fed up again of BT's p*ss poor systems.

Jobs that have been lost due to disconnection, and having to reset all of my VPN and ssh sessions every morning is not what I expect to have to do.
