Cheaper FTTC packages limited to 2Mbps up. :-(

Hi,

I've been with Zen since 2006 and been very happy despite being on the end of long bit of copper and having speeds to match.

FTTC is making its way to me soon (cab has appeared at the end of the road) and I've been looking at fibre prices from Zen and others.

I'm not a big downloader (I don't torrent for example) but as I do a fair amount of work from home upload speed is important to me.

Zen seem to be capping their cheaper packages at 2Mbps upload.

I don't want to spend extra on download just to get extra upload speed. Is there likely to be any bolt-ons we can apply to the cheaper packages to increase upload?

If not I'm looking at alternative ISPs - IDNet seems to get similar ratings for speed and customer service and I'm very tempted to swap.

I can't imagine there will be any change to their product line up for a long time. I too am concerned about this, other ISPs are offering better deals - whether the quality is up-to-scratch though is another question.
