Outage then lowered sync ?

We've just had what looks two short outages this afternoon (01475 area) and my sync has now reduced itself to 7904 kbps after being rock solid on 8128kbps since I hooked it up.

Is there anything I should do to get it connecting at the old sync speed again ?

21N has a date of 31 of this month, so it's currently max ADSL.

Seems back to where I was after a reboot. Maybe some settings were changed.

Nope, dropped again. Is there anything down, or is my router gubbed ?

To be honest, BT could be working at the exchange and this could be cuasing noise on the line causing the speed to drop.

Has the speed settled again, or is it still happening?

No, it's settled but at a lower sync, as I think interleaving is now on.

I've probably made it worse, as because of waiting for it to comeback up, I switched the router on and off a few times. I should know better .

I was thinking about exchange work too, as we are near the conversion date.

Could someone tell me once and for all, if switching the router off for say, 15 mins to a couple of hours for electrical work, would drop the sync and profile, and assuming I wanted to raise the sync again, would I reboot the router daily until it's acheived ?

This is on up maxADSL at the moment.

My advice would be, remove the power from the router and leave it off for about an hour (the session on the Broadband Remote Access Server which controls the speed at BT times out after 20 minutes but I think Zen recommend 30 minutes for good measure) but if you leave it an hour you can be sure.

Reconnect the router and the leave well alone for the next 5-7 days and then check again.

I had to reboot after a firmware update anyway, and it reconnected at the old sync speed.

I'll remember the one hour thing for future reference though.
