Symptoms are pages that don't load sometimes, but when refreshed load instantly, streaming video that freezes and buffers a lot, and many attempts before I'm able to connect to my office VPN (timeout or loss of connectivity according to the VPN client, Cisco AnyConnect).
When this started I was using a Belkin 7633 Modem router, with WiFi disabled and connected to a D-Link 825 for WiFi. The 825 started losing connectivity with internet every minute or so, so I swapped the 7633 with an old ST546v6. This fixed the lost connection every minute, but now I'm experiencing the symptoms noted above.
These are the 546 stats:
Uptime: 0 days, 0:47:34
Modulation: G.992.1 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 1,792
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [KB/KB]: 0.00 / 0.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 16.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 31.5 / 63.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.0 / 7.0
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / IFTN
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 1 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 4 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 5,189
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 51
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 41
I know my speed sucks, since I'm far from the exchange, but in the past I was able to sync at around 2200 with a very stable connection.
The site at http://adsl.tin2tin.net says I have these problems:
Down sync is low (63% of the theoretical maximum).
Only connecting on ADSL1 not ADSL2+.
The power values are out.
There have been 1 local loss of signal.
There are at least some error seconds (upstream*).
There are some FEC errors.
Any help would be appreciated.
