slight profile fluctuations hammering IP profile

The ADSL Nation filter I fitted seems to have stopped the wild fluctuations in sync speed (seems to be bobbing between 3040 and 3072) but whenever it drops my throughput figure drops form 2.4 to 1.9,

Is there anything I can do or ask Zen to do to stop the DLM hammering it so much?

Virgin (ADSL) => Namesco => Newnet => O2 => Plusnet => Zen => Newnet => Zen Lite 8000

sync speed has now jumped to 3104.

Can anyone explain how the DLM algorithm works?

My BE connection runs as fast as it can..

Adding nothing remotely useful as per usual I see.

And why would I want to pay extra for a short contract.

I used BE's LLU when I used O2 and my experience was not good but I am pleased to hear that you have a good experience.

I was asking why they use DLM. I'm not sure what you're raving about...

I am just trying tp figure out why it keeps randomly jumoing up and down. as you are unable to answer that question I'm not sure why you bothered posting as this was not a debate on the rights and wrongs of DLM.

Your sync speed changes as quoted would not seem to be enough to trigger a drop in profile - I wonder if you are getting a lower synch speed briefly then it is recovering to around 3000.

Thanks for providing a decent response, I was beginning to fear the trolls had taken over.

Its quite possible as the sync dropped to 2912 the other day.

Might mail support and request an engineer visit to check the wiring (yep am fully prepared to pay the charge)
