Is Zen Down?

[link to this post]

I can't seem to access the internet, it connects on the router but trying to access websites after a small delay redIrects to the BT error test page.

Anyone else having problems?

I'm with Zen and the internet disappeared for quarter of an hour about 3am this morning, then came back. About 8am it disappeared again and has been off since.

The connection went stale and after rebooting the router it was receiving 172.16 address (instead of a Zen static).

Where abouts are you? I'm in Coventry in the West Midlands. I have a feeling it's a local problem so unless you also happen to be in Cov I expect in all likelihood it's actually unrelated - Zen status page doesn't show a Zen related outage anyway (as of 9am that is).

status.zensupport.co.uk has info about outage in North of England but my sites in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Belfast look as if they are out at the moment - since 08:13

There is a BT outage in and around the Manchester, Mossley, Saddleworth, Oldham and surrounding areas. this is causing authentication to fail, hence why some customers may see a BT 172.xx.xx.xx IP being given to the router (which is of course not usable).

The incident numbers are 15903 for Mossley, and 15904 for Manchester

Here's hoping its back asap...

There's currently a large scale BT Wholesale outage affecting 21CN and Fibre connections across the country, and naturally, any ISP's that use BT's nodes for the link back to the ISP.

Yeah, I'm in Aberdeen and it's just come back on. I thought it was related to a planned upgrade from 40/10 to 80/20 but it seems I now know the reason.

Still down here. Router has been off for over an hour and still getting the BT IP range. Possibly a stale session as I neglected to power down the OR VDSL Modem.

That's now off as well so I will give it 30 mins and power the lot back up.

Like the other poster, I thought it was my regrade to 80/20 going through as well. Ho-hum never mind these things do happen.

Rarely do I ever get faults on Zen and they have sorted this out pretty quickly. Sure I will be back up soon enough.

Yep back up still on 40/10 profile.

Bring on 80/20 when you are ready chaps.

Affected here in Glasgow too. Was ok when I went to bed at 3:15am, down when I checked just before 7 , all ok around 11:30. Hope BT cops some flak for what seems like a very major outage.

As I understand it traffic from Scotland and NI would be backhauled to Zen's POPs in the North so were probably affected by the outage.

Virgin (ADSL) => Namesco => Newnet => O2 => Plusnet => Zen => Newnet => Zen Lite 8000
