Our exchange/line got upgraded to ADSL2+ and went live on Thursday 27 September.
Stats say:
Up speed 1,087,384 - PREVIOUSLY 448,000
Down speed 11,924,473 - PREVIOUSLY 6,752,000
SNR 6 - PREVIOUSLY 14
Loop Att 38 - PREVIOUSLY 35
A speed test gives:
Ping = 30ms
Download = 9964 kbps - PERVIOUSLY 5389 kbps
Upload = 912 kbps - PERVIOUSLY 369 kbps
Overall, the upgrade has given a welcome uplift in speed. In the initial 10-day training period, the router had a number of reboots (1) because of firmware upgrades, (2) because I turned it off by accident, and (3) because the local electricity company turned the power off so that they could replace overhead cables that were damaged last winter.
Is the line now pretty much set and this is the speed it will achieve from now on, or is it likely to improve now that the electricity company have finished their work and there should be no more router reboots?
TIA
Finn
