Just thought I would post this as been with zen for 7 years and wanted to say what a good service I have had , with all the doom in the world I wanted to thank them for a great service over this period. I have hardly ever had to phone them and the service just keeps going.
Cheers
Ps do I qualify for a mug
Well I have been with them for 11 years and I echo these sentiments....
so I definitely qualify for a mug
Haha,
I'll speak to the Powers that Be and see what we can do

Eleven years this past November. Can I have a mug too please?
I'm also now in my 12th year with Zen.
11 years 1 month and still counting (broadband and web hosting)

My phone home talk plus with zen start tomorrow away from expensive BT. I look forward to a bargain price.
Oh I am quite new to Zen" Service started 01/10/2004."
I have never had a problem with the Zen part of the service.
If only I could say the same about terrible BT tail!

Free mugs , can I have coffee in mine, as I've been with Zen over 7 years with multiple accounts and now the phone service.
Service is good otherwise I would have moved.
15 years here, 11 of those on ADSL and 6 happy months on Fibre unlimited. Do I win?
I'll have a gold plated coffee mug please

Hi all,
I'm afraid at the moment we wont be able to send out Zen mugs as they are all "used" and we would only want to send new ones.
The marketing team have advised me that they will let me know when we order some more.
Sorry i couldn't send you any at this time

I have to ask, how did this thing about the mugs come about?
Virgin (ADSL) => Namesco => Newnet => O2 => Plusnet => Zen => Newnet => Zen => Freeola => Vivaciti (using O2 Wholesale DSL) => Xilo (C&W Wholesale) => Xilo (O2 Wholesale) => Xilo (TT Wholesale due to O2 Wholesale closure) => Zen LLU
Router: Billion 7800N
Note: I don't lay turf for anyone. astro or otherwise, all views and opinions expressed are my own based on experience.

I believe the demand was created here in this forum after we got some mugs made up. Some were sent out to customers posting here and some given away in competitions, and they became a legend!
We also had some "limited edition" black ones which were auctioned off for charity.
ta,
Phil.

If you send me a mug I might join.

Ah yes, I did read about that in the customer newsletter some time agp.
Had landline supporting broadband with Zen for 3 years and main landline used for calls was moved over last year.
Moved around broadband wise as used to regularly exceed the usage caps then in force and had issues with BT DLM but am pleased to now be back and on LLU and don't anticipate moving again
Think I'm a bit off qualifying for a mug but I am a Zen fan though.
Perhaps Zen could set up a fan club and charge for it, bit like a certain haulage firm.

Well it was worth a try a fan club what a great idea
I was joking.
The members of the other club I mentioned spot trucks and may occasionally get the chance to look round some of the company's distribution and administrative facilities.
I doubt very much Richard Tang and his employees would appreciate it very much if lots of us pitched up at Zen HQ asking to look round the data centre to do some router and server spotting
Zen staff member: "Over there is cpanel03, its a Dell PowerEdge R320 with a Xeon E5 quad running at 2.40Ghz with 32GB RAM and 7 1TB internal SAS drives, running Debian Linux"
Onlookers with open mouths "wow"
Zen staff member: "If you look behind you you'll see one of our Cisco ASR 9000 routers terminating a few of our links from our LLU equipment in the exchanges"
Onlookers with even wider open mouths "Amazing"
Would be interesting certainly but not likely.
Zen are certainly terrific though.

I know only posted this as a bit of a thank you to zen for my time with them . The mug thing has been going on for many years on here . Anyone got a photo of the great mug.

There was a post over on the Zen forums with a picture of the mug but it appears the user's photobucket account has expired.
I'm sure someone from Zen will post a picture of one when they see this thread, they are quite nice.
*cough* I'd like one too *cough*

I've been a member all the way back to 2005. Do I qualify for a "used" mug kissed by the lips of Richard Tang?
i have been with Zen for around 12 years now and overall it's been an excellent experience
my first year was with AOL back in 2001 which was so bad i nearly packed up from being online and i suspect that's why there are many from that period 2001 who tried broadband and failed and gave up never to return
I first got broadband in 2005 on Virgin Net (couldn't get ADSL here until BT launched extended reach BB)
Virgin's DNS resolvers used to regularly stuff up, usually on an evening when I'd come in from work about 11 and needed to do something important like pay a bill (was using one of the speedtouch ADSL modems then)
I used to read PC Magazine which Zen advertised in but thought they didn't offer services to non business customers so weren't on my consideration list at the time.
