I do not work for Zen...

Have you seen there Partner program http://www.zen.co.uk/partner/

A former work colleague used them / it to run a service for the village he lived in.

Various (Dile up) -> clara.net (Dile up) -> TELE2 (Microwave) -> ZeN (ADSL)

Good luck with this but I can see a few issues.

Won't lots of people be in BB contracts so won't be able to move?

I've also run local ADSL and then FTTC campaigns and have found that although some people are very interested there are lots that aren't - so this sounds like quite an undertaking.

As I say, good luck with this and please let us all know how things go.

In reply to a post by pcoventry76:
And to think I offered all this to Gigaclear and they turned me down - tsk!

GC are only interested in rural villages who have no hope of getting superfast BB either from BT/BDUK or Virgin.
Such places also need to be within reaching distance of an access point into the internet backhaul to make it economically viable to them.
I'm sure there are other additional criteria.

I guess your situation did not meet these requirements
