Packetloss is getting out of control

[link to this post]

I've been plagued with the what seems common peak hours speed issues. What affects me mostly is the packetloss that comes along with it. Anything up to 25% loss Mon-Fri 1600-0000 and daytime Sat/Sun.

I work from home some days and trying to use VOIP or RDP is unbearable.

I use Zabbix to monitor the firewall (PFSense) which produces the following: https://i.imgur.com/moUr4bo.png

The graph shows regular packetloss each evening. I have history of this going back to November. This is pinging the PPPoE endpoint, so is a measurement of the first hop.

I have spoken to Zen, and I am being "moved to BT backhaul" tomorrow, so I'll post again with an update to this on Tuesday. Just wondering if this is normal now? I really hope the migration fixes it as even the wife is telling me to "fix Netflix" now frown

Have you looked into the state of your line, out of curiosity?

I have done the following:

- Plugged directly into master socket
- Changed Filter
- Swapped BT FTTC Huawei Modem for the Zen supplied Zyxel VMG1312-B10d
- PPPoE direct from Laptop (isolating network to just laptop)
- DSL stats show minimum line issues (6 SNR, few CRC errors <10 per day), DSL uptime of weeks

Ok, thanks for confirming. Sounds like an ISP issue then. I will let others who are more knowledgeable in this area than myself, to help. Good luck. smile

Can you set up a BQM here just to double check what you are seeing then post a link to the live graph.

Also need a lot more stats than that....have you ran dslstats monitoring....http://dslstats.me.uk/downloads.html

edit:add dslstats link

HI, Have you contacted our support team?

If not feel free to send me a PM with your details and I'll pass them on. Something obviously isn't quite right.

The support team moved us to the BT backhaul on 5th Feb. Line dropped at 00:10 5th Feb and came back up at 11:50.

The packetloss has gone, which is great smile Pings have risen though, from ~10 to ~20, but I'm not too bothered about that (my son has a difference of opinion though).
