I'm pretty sure I've been uploading at 1MB/s on unlimited fibre 1 package, but I've just noticed I'm capped 0.5MB/s.
It could just be coincidence but I've just finished my first year along with the bill increas, now I'm out of the 'offer' period.
Have Zen changed their package speeds within the last year?

So 8 Mbps and 4 Mbps
They just do the 40/10 and 80/20 packages so if your upload has changed first port of call should be connection speeds in the router.

That's a relief, thanks. It's the 'average speed' on the website that threw me. DSLAM throughput is showing 40,000 and 10, 000, as it should but I'm only syncing at 5000 up. Will investigate

My stats seem really strange
Max. DSLAM throughput kbit/s 40000 10000
Min. DSLAM throughput kbit/s 128 128
Attainable throughput kbit/s 42659 4584
Current throughput kbit/s 39998 4574
I have no idea why attainable throughput is like that. No soft caps this end as far as I know. Will contact support tomorrow if I can't think of anything

If you are on the 40/10 product but your line could connect at 63Mbps on the 80/20 product, the attainable will show as 63Mbps .
What you are seeing on the downstream is normal. Its the upstream that looks strangely low.
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests 35-45Mpbs down, 9-15 up.

You are correct. I should have said I can attain the max speed quite easy
|
|

Have you turned off/on the router to force a single resync after noticing the slow upload?

Yeah I can't see where there'd be a soft cap on the fritzbox and i definitely haven't put one on. Will contact support to see if they know

Zen seem to think there's a fault on the line, which seems a bit strange, but I'll go along with it and see what happens
|
|
|
|
If there were a fault on the line would that effect the download and the upload.?
A faulty line works in both directions , unless the down and up are not in anyway in the mix.
|
|
|
In theory, but a fault that exhibits as a narrow section of noise affecting just some of the upload bins can cause this

Understood , so the OP could have a bad or noisy line,?
|
|
|
That or some noise source locally that is at very specific frequencies

UPDATE: BT went to the cabinet and fixed the problem. Took them less than 10 minutes. Upload is back to normal. I never would have expected it to be cabinet side but I am happy to be surprised!
Does anyone have any idea what they may have actually done in the box to fix it, I'd be very interested.
Tried to update thread title with resolved it's not having it.
Thanks all for the help replies and thanks to Zen for sorting it out super fast.. oh and Andrew from Openreach, my mum, my dad... happy Christmas all

Might be a lift and shift to a different port, or some connection was not fully home, and a bit of noise introduced but with a limited frequency range.
Or even simpler a reset of the line card port.
