Zen LLU

Can anyone explain what the advantages are to Zen undertaking an LLU rollout? Are there any benefits to FTTC/P connections?

The FTTC and FTTP parts in themselves are unaffected.

What it means is the data is picked up from the handover exchange direct onto the Zen network, which in theory means more control for Zen and hopefully better performance combined with a lower cost of operation, with the cost thus being reflected in the retail pricing, example being the no price rise promise.

Zen offer FTTC via BT WMBC and Open reach GEA, MIn Latency levels can vary, depending on where you are located in the country and how the GEA is routed from the Exchange to Zenb's data centre's they have 2 1,Manchester the other in London, So if you live in say the north west you may be routed to London this does increase latency, where as if you where connected via BT wholesale's WMBC transit links you would connect to their Manchester data centre, this is from my own experience, and it's shared with others some from london area who where connected to Manchester when migrated to GEA,
As for performance max throughput, as there is no IP profile on GEA this should be slightly higher than if on BT WMBC due to wholesales IP profile system
