New Zen VDSL Gateways?

[link to this post]

I noticed about 10 days ago, that I connect to my Zen 80/20 connection with different gateway IP addresses:

The new gateways seem to be:

51.148.72.22 vt1.cor2.lond1.ptn.zen.net.uk (I think!)
51.148.72.21 vt1.cor1.lond1.ptn.zen.net.uk

Any thoughts on this?

The old gateway was:
62.3.80.17 losubs.subs.bng1.th-lon.zen.net.uk

Hi

Have you been moved from BT backhaul to Zen's own? Before i moved house my connection did use 62.3.80.17 - losubs.subs.bng1.th-lon.zen.net.uk as the gateway (BT backhaul) , but since moving to an area with Zen backhaul on it my gateway is normally 51.148.72.43 - vt2.cor1.lond2.ptn.zen.net.uk

Maybe that helps

Zen have been doing a lot of engineering work on their gateways over the last few days. I’ve seen a few quite long disconnects on that side whilst leaving the synch for VDSL untouched - so not waking OR DLM up.

My parents were routed via Manchester but are now (as of Monday night) through London and that’s also brought their ping down from 30ms to just 7ms.

My GEA migration to Zen`s own backhaul took place on 4th May 2019, so I don`t think the change in gateway is related to that.

After bringing the PPP session down a few times I was able to get back onto the old gateway. Latency to bbc.co.uk is 8 ms on both gateways:
