To change the admin password, you follow these steps
1) login locally using the existing password
2) use the 3-dot menu top right and choose Change Password
3) enter your new password and apply
4) you may be asked to press one of the flashing buttons on the box to confirm the change (by being physically present)
I don't see anything about sending an email as part of changing an admin password.
Alternatively if you don't actually know the existing password then you mean a reset not a change.
There is a link on the login screen which gives you instructions for factory resetting the router,
after which the admin password will be the original printed on the box.
Given your wording I am concerned you are visiting an external website being asked for your email address and password there which seems rather odd.
