I know [censored] happens, but no information until now.
Don't they have backups for this sort of thing?

What do you mean ‘backups’? Like a second diverse route going to another exchange?

In broadband? Well not really in the distribution network. If someone puts a JCB through a spine cable you’re a bit stuffed until they come out and repair it.

Route / exchange diversity etc is something that comes with high end private business circuits in general.

Plain broadband is not seen as critical enough for the expense and hassle.

Thought it might be more redundant given the wide coverage area. And that's fine, I accept regular broadband (even though I have a business account) is not fully covered from JCBs.

More annoyed at the lack of information. Could have done something else today.

If you had a residential service, then if they hadn't made the necessary repairs by Day 2, then you will at least be eligible for automatic compensation payments of £8.06 per day, credited to you account.

Otherwise check to see if there is any service credit payable on your business account / have a moan to your account manager.

Assuming your mobile phone signal is usable, you're far better off budgeting to put extra data on your phone if required than spending out each month for a business service if your objective is uptime.

Yes, I have considered that before. Something I never got around to setting up. I have the router to do it as well. Downtime hasn't really been much of an issue over the years. I guess if the internet is not back up tomorrow, that's what I will be working on.
