Off the back of issues with my GEA connection (since migrated back to BTW) I'm in a heightened state of vigilance, and I'm noticing some reduced throughput on some of the Zen gateways today, yet oddly on one of these gateways (vt1.cor1.lond2.ptn.zen.net.uk) I'm getting higher throughput than I've ever seen (930Mbps+) to one speedtest server in particular - VoiceHost Norwich. While testing Zen's own server on that gateway doesn't reach 800Mbps anymore.
Anyone else notice anything?
hi sorry to open old thread - did Zen do a rollback to the GEA migration and put you back on the previous config ? thanks
Yes, he says so on the 1st line in his post.
Have a read of the very long
Slow speed after GEA migration thread.
It details multiple users who have been migrated to Zens own GEA network and have suffered large drops in throughput since.
Some of those users were migrated back upon request.
Some of the users had a free 2nd line installed by Zen in an attempt to fix the problems (unsuccessfully).
Some users have simply left Zen.
We've already seen Zen customer service reminding a number of customers that the minimum guaranteed on their full fibre 900 is 450Mb/s.
So technically Zen can do nothing and tell your that they are meeting their obligations.
Eventually Zen will want all users on their own GEA network wherever it is available. So at some point they will presumably start refusing to migrate customers back.
