Major outage - North London Area

[link to this post]

https://servicealerts.zen.co.uk/active/5/6293
https://status.zen.co.uk/broadband/fault-outage-deta...

DSL services are affected by an outage on the following exchanges:
Kings Cross, Euston, Enfield, Winchmore Hill, Loxwood, Plaistow, Rudgwick, Dunsfold, Romford.

Sync is up but no PPP auth since 00:36 confirmed on multiple sites.

Interestingly no real details from Zen as to is this is a them problem or an OpenReach problem. I wonder if everyone will get a few £ for the day's outage...

It looks like service has been restored around 11:30 but still no real update from Zen. This looks like it was a Zen issue rather than a OpenReach one...

Hmmm. I had an outage, and when it came back my latency had tripled.
Tried reconnecting a couple of times but took ages to reconnect.

See my BQM

Now I see on my portal:
Zen Fibre GEA Migration Fulfilled on 19/10/2022

So is that me with high pings forever then?

My PoP was acc-aln2.l-bec (Beckenham in SE London where I live)
Now it's BNG4.WH-MAN-RE0 (Manchester?)

I an fed up with Zen's network rearrangement, I suspect it is to save money and instigated by bean counters.
I am off to A&A in November so wont have to put up with this [censored] anymore.

Might end up on a different one overnight.

"The work to confirm the fix was successful.

As part of the continuing work to resolve the authentication issues, engineers will be reloading the gateways out of hours.

During the re-loads, customers will experience a drop in connection while their service moves to another gateway.

Zen regret any inconvenience this may cause."

I had similar a few weeks ago - which disconnecting/reconnecting after a day or so resolved

Ever since then I've noticed lost packets on my connection and periods of very low download speeds

and in inbox is an email saying how many stars would you give Zen

Mine switched to London briefly overnight and then back to Manchester again.

I manually bounced it at about 9am and it went back to London.
