Zen renewal deals?

[link to this post]

My 2 year FTTP contract with Zen ends on 10th May, having looked around at other options I plan to renew.

Does anybody have recent renewal experience with Zen? Any deals about? I will probably change down from the 990Mbs package to 500, don't need the Fritzbox so hoping for a discount there.

MSE are reporting upcomming price increases from a lot of ISPs, anybody heard/know if Zen plan to increase prices in the next couple of months?

TIA.

You are unlikely to get a discount, but signing up for a 'new; contract and regrading won't incur a set-up fee (or provide a new router).

If you are coming to the end of a 2 year contract then you are probably still covered by the lifetime price guarantee so if you do nothing then your price won't increase. Signing up to a new contract would lose the price for life guarantee but- if downgrading to a slower service is likely to still save you money over the next couple of years..Zen aren't as greedy as the big supliers so are unlikely to go for a CPI + x% default price increase but only increase to cover increases in their costs.

I am in a similar position and also likely to recontract (but keeping 900mbit) as it will save me £8 a month on what I am paying now.

It is worth noting that even though Zen have dropped their price for life guarantee for new contracts they do still have a contract price promise, this guarantees no price increases for the duration of the fixed term of a contract. So no CPI +x% mid contract like with other suppliers, they would only be able to do any increase after your contract ends at which point obviously it is possible to move without penalty.

Thank you both, I'm paying the old fttp 900 price (62.99) so don't want to keep the existing contract rolling over.

I'll contact Zen and pick a current package with the 2 year price guarantee.
