Trying to configure TP-Link AX7800

[link to this post]

Hello,

Has anyone had success configuring the TP-Link AX7800 for use on Zen? I live in Cambridge, am new to Zen but happy with the CityFibre speeds I can enjoy... but would like to replace the Fritzbox with a higher quality wifi router.

Zen tech support has helpfully provided my username, password, Static IP address and told me to set the VLAN to 911. I also know I need to configure it as PPoE. However, I am not able to get the settings to work in a way that the device will accept (unable to save a given change, for example). Or, more likely, I am just doing something wrong!

Can anyone share their experience setting up the TP-Link AX7800? Thank you in advance!

I am also open to using a different wifi router if you've found it easy to configure with the information Zen provides and offers faster and higher quality connections over wifi. Let me know what worked for you, please.

Thank you!

Don't know the TP-Link but I am very satisfied with the Asus RT-AX86U.

You shouldn't need to set static IP even if they give you one, try DHCP, also the VLAN 911 is on the WAN yes? Any chance you can put a screen grab up of the settings page for the WAN/Internet as TPlink emulator page doesnt have your model listed and the random AX one I looked at didnt appear to have a WAN/VLAN setting.

Just looked again, setting 911 on the IPTV/VLAN settings page, set priority to 0.

My experience it does take a little time for Cityfibre to start up on a router change, or it used to anyway.

Speedtest

Draytek 3910(HA) - Cityfibre 900 & BT FTTP 900.

Thank you for the help - I've been able to set it up successfully! It is PPPoE which allows me to enter username and password. You're right, the StaticIP was a red herring and not required to configure the router. I used the VLAN settings you shared and it works a treat.
