Fritz!Box 7530 to 7530AX

I'm considering upgrading from Zen FF100 to FF500, which appears to involve an upgrade from the 7530 to 7530ax router.

I have considerable configuration on the 7530, fixed IPs, VOIP, Mesh repeaters etc and so have this in a backup file. If I upgrade to the 7530ax, will I be able to fully restore from this file?
The backup option on the router GUI states "Only selected settings from the file can be restored to a different FRITZ!Box model, so I just wondered if anyone has done this successfully?

I have had limited to no success in backing up and restoring settings (7530 to 7530 or 7530 to 7530ax).
The restored settings caused the router menus to refresh very slowly so, in the end, I just performed a factory reset and restored all settings manually.

Not tried it myself. But I'd play it like this:
First backup old.
Second - take screen shots or some other written record of absolutely everything.
Third, restore to new and test.
Success: OK then. It's all good.
Fail: Do it manually from those written records.

I transferred my settings from 7530 to 7530AX without any real problems. It may be affected by the FritzOS versions installed - I think mine were the same. But if you backup the AX first, you can always revert to that.

Providing both boxes are on the same software level I've not had any problems restoring a FB7530 back-up onto a FB7530AX. I have also successfully transferred a FB7590 backup to a FB7530 which included port forwarding rules and custom LAN/WAN DNS settings. As always take a backup of both boxes. Not sure if it's relevant but I've also changed my Internet Service provider settings to "Other Internet Service Provider"

Thanks for everyone's responses. The 7530 is currently on 8.02, so I'll just check that the 7530ax is the same before the restore.
