FTTP availability - help !

[link to this post]

I am in postcode KT4 and currently on FTTC.

I am sure I used to see options to upgrade to FTTP - this option is no longer available - did I imagine the previous availability ??

OK - so, I've had an online chat with ZEN - no FTTP at KT4 currently.

I am sure they used to offer it previously, then I again I may have imagined it - shame !!

PS A random search on the net gives conflicting yes / no re availability in my area.

Where did you see them?

Try your address in broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com.

"WBC FTTP" means FTTP is available.

"FTTP on Demand" means FTTP is *not* available.

(FTTP on Demand is a bespoke network build service, typically costing £10,000+)

Is it possible you saw a FTTP option from someone other than a BT/Openreach provider i.e. has another fibre network (Fibre Heroes/BeFibre, Virgin, etc) installed there?

In the exhange info for W Park (as per thinkbroadband.com) Openreach FTTP is enabled. I assume therefore I'll have to wait for ZEN to offer it.

Exchange-level information does not apply to all premises served by the exchange.

Yes, LSWOR is FTTP enabled, and also an FTTP priority exchange so you can only (except for a few specific exception cases) order FTTP where it is available to premises. Otherwise SOGEA, and if that is also unavailable, SOADSL.

The FTTP priority status indicates FTTP is available to at least 75% of the premises served, but not necessarily all. Have you checked what the BT Wholesale checker states for your specific premises as suggested?

Also, the Samknows data is well out of date which may be one reason for you seeing conflicting data.

Hi,

Check your address on here - https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/...

If it shows FTTP available then you should be able to order through Zen.

Note the terminology you need to understand from that checker:

WBC FTTP = FTTP is available

FTTP on Demand = FTTP is *not* available

Final word on this : going back through my emails, I can see that ZEN did indeed offer me FTTP back in June 2023.

I didn't respond.

Evidently availability has changed since then.

End of story.
