Fritzbox Standard profile unable to access online banking

I'm using Fritzbox 7530 with Asus router (in Access point mode). My phone line is due to be switched over to Digital voice at end of month and to get everything ready I connected the Fritzbox 7530 modem/router Zen has sent.

The problem I'm having is when a new device is connected, it gets assigned the "Standard" profile for parental controls. The problem is I'm unable to access any on-line banking apps e.g. Barclays or Amex on my mobile phone(s).

If I manually change the assigned profile to "unrestricted" for my Mobile, everything works as expected and I can access the banking apps.

All new devices get assigned the "standard" profile as default. It's a pain and annoying to change the profile for every connected device to "unrestricted".

Everything was working fine when I was only using the Asus router with the Openreach modem I was originally provided long ago.

I'm only using the the Fritzbox 7530 modem/router because my phone line is being transferred to them as Digital Voice and I need it to connect my phone.


How can/do I set the "unrestricted" profile as default when a new device connects via wifi or wired.

I don't think you can change it so that new devices get the unrestricted profile, as according to the Fritz settings "The first time any network device registers with the FRITZ!Box, it is automatically assigned this (standard) access profile." It shouldn't be blocking access to those apps though.

In the Fritz menu, under Internet > Filter > Parental Controls tab, does it say there are any restrictions on the standard profile?

I haven't used one so suggestion looking at the knowledge base:
Remove filters on the standard profile.
Instructions for applying a universal filter - presumably removing filters should be in same area.

Adjusting the 'Standard' access profile
To ensure that new devices in the home network cannot bypass the parental controls, block internet access for the 'Standard' access profile:
Click on 'Internet' in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
Click on 'Filter' in the 'Internet' menu.
On the 'Parental Controls' tab, click on the 'Standard' profile, then on the (Edit Access Profile) button.
Enable the 'Schedule' option.
Click on the 'Internet use blocked' button, hold down the mouse button, and drag the mouse across the weekly overview.
The weekly overview is now completely white, which means that internet use is blocked at all times.
Enable the 'Use of guest access blocked' option.
Click on 'Apply' to save the access profile.

As others have said, from what I can see you can't do exactly what you state, but you can set the "standard" profile to be effectively unrestricted

Fritz!Box UI > Internet > Filter
Standard tab
Click button with pencil icon (edit)

Under heading "Filters" set
[ ] Filter Websites (unchecked)

Under heading "Filter for Network applications" set

o All network applications are permitted (selected)
o All network applications are blocked (not selected)

and (obviously) no exceptions

That should render your default profile Standard as the same as unrestricted.

My Fritzbox got updated to the latest v8.25 Firmware and the Web GUI is now more user friendly and the "Standard" profile also has no restrictions.

I'm only using the Fritzbox as a modem and to connect my house phone for the Digital Voice. If I had a choice, I prefer not using the Fritzbox.

Because I'm now using my original Asus router in AP mode for all my devices and it's Asus WAN port connected to the LAN port on the Fritzbox, the Asus router needs to have the "unrestricted" profile assigned with a static IP.

All new devices that connect via WiFi are now assigned the "Standard" profile and everything works as expected.
