Re: Openreach contact details for FTTC Info?

[re: deleted] [link to this post]

Hey Guys,

I've been waiting for BT infinity since 2013, and openreach currently have me at "field survey" with the deadline for 31 March 2017. I've been so obsessed with it, I get excited whenever I see a BT van in my local area LOL.

But does anyone know roughly when this is due to start? As the wait is getting on my nerves.

So my cabinet fibre upgrade has finally reached the 'activate' phase which states, '
Were performing our final quality and safety checks in your area. Well let service providers know that Superfast connections are available in your area. Call your service provider to see if you can place your fibre order now. ' I have checked loads of different providers and all of them say that I can only get standard broadband. Does it take long for them to be notified?

The other part of the cabinet fibre journey states, 'We're performing our final quality checks and making sure everything is ready for your fibre order. You can't order a fibre service today but typically it'll be available to your premises within the next month.'

Conflicting information really...

BT Wholesale probably almost immediately, with an overnight BTW database update.

Most ISPs selling BT Wholesale services, as soon as that update happens. Some possibly later.

Sky, TalkTalk, TalkTalk resellers, it varies depending on two or three factors.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. Sync 59504/15641kbps @ 600m. - BQM

Thanks mate. Is the database update something that would be done in a couple.of days? Or will they wait a few weeks and then do it?

Hi. Thanks for this. I had a look but can't really interpret it myself. Can you have a look and tell me what you think please?

That tells you that the line for that address is connected to exchange Dundonald, using cabinet 35.

Is that what you expect, when compared to the output from the Openreach output?

The data within the table tells you that only ADSL is currently available to order; you'd expect extra lines of information to appear in there when FTTC becomes available, each line giving estimated speed ranges.

Until that data changes, you won't find it available at any ISP.

It is cabinet 35 so I expected that and the fibre cabinet also has 35 on it. It just seems like a lengthy process to be able to even place and order when the Openreach thing says that they will let ISP's know that it's available soon.

I guess I'll just have to wait....
