Doesn't quite mean that, no wink The site is a bit of a mess really - I set it up when we formed about 2.5 years ago but if I don't change anything then nothing changes at all... which generally means nothing changes hehe.

Erm we did all fire up BF2 after 1.5 got released and played it for a few months but it all kind of fizzled out. It took me about 1 month to get back to a reasonable standard and then we stopped playing lol.

We do have a couple of good players (and a couple who think they are!) but we do have a full mix of abilities. We don't take (anything) that seriously really. We don't play in any leagues or anything either - none of us can be arsed!

Sounds like my kind of place then!! tongue

How many members do you have? Are they all paid up? I think I would just be interested in BF3 as I've never played the other games you mention. I'd gladly contribute some dosh too especially if it meant ol' spooky can get to kick someone else off a server with a reservation if, and when, it's full.

I was just wondering what games would look like in 10 years time after watching that vid you linked to above.

It occurred to me the next generation of gamers might look back at the funny old tech we're using today and wonder how the heck we ever managed.

I can see you gaming when you're in your 90s mate. So no problems there. You might need a few augmentations to your sight and reflexes mind but I'm sure the technology will exist by then to help you out!

Funny you mention gaming at a later age because i have found the last few years my patience and tolerance to games that don't look or feel right is as low as it gets.tongue

As much as i love a great new game like Cod Or Battlefield 3 i hope i really don't Game anywhere near what i used to a few years back, don't know if its a age thing or the fact the game does not really have that impact online to make me play it,apart from Gears 3 Horde mode i have not spent much time online this year apart from a small amount of Black Ops which in all honesty was not a game i really cared much about.

Here is hoping in the next few weeks things will indeed change and the advertisements for both MW3 and Battlefield 3 seem to be doing the rounds on both Radio and Television.

Why to games publishers make a game that will only work with one version of microsoft's os, (win7)? and why make any game so demanding of system resources, ? Do they seriously think that we will all go out and upgrade hardware or even build or buy a new rig solely to play a game? that's excluding the fact we are in a recession with virtually no job security

I think we kind of have about 30 members although it will be closer to 20 who will probably be actively playing when it comes out. At £5 each we can afford a 64 man server and teamspeak - we have actually only just started paying again in anticipation of BF3 for about 6 months or so we haven't had a server so there was no need for money except a small bit for teamspeak.

As I say you are quite welcome to come and try things out for a bit - we don't demand money on the door or anything smile TBH if someone doesn't give any money to the clan they don't get kicked or anything like that - we might remove a reserved slot/admin powers and we maybe don't take as much notice of what they think we should do with the server but they are still welcome on teamspeak etc

I think BF3 is one of the first games to stop supporting XP but I thought Vista was still ok. TBH I think it is progressive. I know a lot of businesses are still using XP but on the home front I think the majority of people (particularly those people who would play a game like BF3) will be beyond the 10 year old XP.

Steam hardware survey

I figure this should be quite a good source of info since it is basically a survey of people who play games on their pc.

Looking at things like nearly 79% have a dx10 card (16.76% still running XP) and then over 75% are running Vista/Win 7 then it isn't maybe new rig time for everyone. I am sure they looked a lot closer than I have at many stats before making the decisions they have. Given that they are here to make money they must have weighed lost business due to inadequate systems against improved business from people who want things to look sexy.

I think I may have to make an application. Probably not like this one though!

Why I want to join FiFo? - I wanted a new area to meet with underaged children.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time? - Prison

If you were an animal, which one would you want to be? - A Trouser Snake.
