Listen you raise some very interesting things regarding Microsoft and Cloud Gaming even to the extent of making me have second opinions about picking one up .......Yeah Serious.

You see mate i class myself as a very serious gamer, the type of person that owns all the consoles and spends hundreds if not thousands each year on games and accessories.

In my opinion each has there own strengths and weakness,i mean how can i play Gears Horde mode if i don't have a Xbox, how can i play games like uncharted if i don't own a Playstation.

Problem i have with Microsoft and Xbox one is there original vision which i have repeated myself on several occasions,i tend to think i have become a little bit wiser as i have got older [watch Mrnelster comments on the older] tongue and this generation at present i don't feel the need or the urge to own both at the moment.

If Epic Release a Blow your socks of Gears game with Horde mode or a totally mind blowing new IP I'm in,and within days the VCR .....Sorry Xbox One will be sitting side by side with my Playstation 4.

Besides you i think that only Jaxx is getting a Xbox One but he's on medication and only allowed out weekends tongue.......Thats a Joke by the way................

He is not allowed out at all because he is in a padded cell after ordering a Xbox one wink

I have pre ordered another PS4 a couple of weeks ago from blockbuster in town . to be told it might not be till after Christmas , which would make PS4 very profitable and desirable .

But could also mess up the sales figures , as in can't get a PS4 but lots of xbones in stock . what you going to get little Timmy for Christmas? ( lump of coal )

I still have a George formun grill under my telly and really enjoyed playing " The Last of us " on it .

So I'm the same and will own both consoles just can't help myself when there is such easy money to be had .

No need to apologise. It's all cool. cool

But I do want you to take the reference material on board. If you want an Xbox One because you prefer the games (I would love to be able to play TitanFall) or if you prefer the controller through experience, that's fine. Nobody here will tell you otherwise. And if it's because you don't think there will be any significant difference between the two consoles other than perhaps on some first party studio titles, then you are probably right, especially in the short term

But people here are cautiously offering reference material to try to cut through the cloud computing hype, and to be honest the evidence doesn't stack up. If it does, we will all be winners eventually, but "eventually" is the key word there. By then I expect video compression and decoding techniques will make cloud computation for gaming purposes obsolete anyway. When we can all manage a consistent 20Mbps, game streaming companies will hopefully be running machines so powerful as to make consoles themselves obsolete.

My advice? Whatever you buy, buy it for the games. My first "adult" console was the Sega Saturn. I did eventually buy a PS1 to play TOCA Touring Cars and Destruction Derby (all before I truly discovered FPS games of course wink), but I never regretted buying the Saturn because all I wanted to play at the time was SEGA Rally.

And all the "3D graphics accelerator chips" in the world weren't going to make me buy a PS1 instead!

I agree that 'eventually' is the key word, it looks likely that cloud/streaming of games will be the future model (like it or not) with us all paying a monthly subscription. I don't think it's going to be a big deal for a few years yet, I mean we are just about to get brand new hardware which alone will make a huge difference to games once developers get to grips with it.

Well I think the best thing to do is to give developers the option to choose what is best for the games they are creating, after all no one knows better than them. So there's nothing wrong with Sony saying 'cloud computing is available if you want it'.

Microsoft could well end up having a better network of servers and cloud/streaming service but we won't know until it happens. How can you possibly know what network Sony has or what they can afford?
