Lol, that's not unique to Infinity. My parents had problems moving from TT to BT Broadband. The first order failed because some muppet had forgotten to put their MAC on the order to BTw. The cancellation of that order also caused them to lose their landline. The second order failed for an unknown reason. The third order finally went through and after two weeks they were back online. They even have a spare modem that BT didn't want back resulting from the second order.

To be fair (one wonders why) the staff at BT were far more friendly and actually helpful than TT. They called back when they said they would and even called just to update on the third order as it progressed. It'd have been better not to have had the hassle but they handled it well. Something TT ought to learn from. Problems don't have to alienate customers - they can actually have a positive effect if handled correctly.

It might be worth posting a (polite) complaint to their forums here. That got us the personal attention curtesy of BT_Care.

Edit:I see you have - sorta smile

A little venting is understandable but always remember that it's not the personal fault of the staff you're dealing with. Polite but firm is nearly always better than rude and shirty smile

Took a few days and lots of phone calls then I started getting strange emails about cancelled services, next a date of 15th sep (I hope) and just to make sure they have sent me another home hub. To be fair they have given me £10:00 for each missed appointment who knows at this rate I might get it free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is that £10 a promise or physical cash you can already touch?

I see BT retail is offering free upgrade to infinity from normal bt broadband when it becomes available in your area but what happens if you can already get fftc
do you think still think they would give you at they bt broadband price of £17.99 instead of the normal price £25. i only have my phoneline with BT

I have registered my interest in BT Infinity but the key quote is "when it is available in your area" I live in a small village with 715 households so it aint gonna happen frown and I'm not moving house again to get quicker internet. I'll have to stick to BT Total Broadband Option 3 and keep badgering them to keep the price as low as possible, last renewal they knocked £2.50 @ month off to keep me as a customer, wonder how much lower I can push them at next renewal smile
