At the beginning of the week I was moved over to ADSL2+ and since then my down speed has decreased from around 8032Kbps to 7682 Kbps and I have noticed that my "output power" is 0 dBm for downstream, is this normal? Line Attenuation has increased rather a lot from 40dB to 44.5dB, isn't that a higher than usual jump that you usually get when you change to ADSL2+? Connection just does not seem to be in a good state right now!

You are about right for your attn.
Have you tried in test socket? Any phone extensions? Which ISP?
Maybe you need to wait for it to train.

Yeah it's about right for my attn but should the attn really have increased by 4.5dB when I moved to ADSL2+? I thought it was usually a max of 3dB increase? Surely it's not right I was getting better speed on ADSLMax? =(
No phone extensions, it's plugged in the master socket - a NTE5 adsl filtered faceplate.
ISP is Aquiss.

Nope, not behind the faceplate but I think it would be too much of a coincidence if it went wrong now! I will try it tomorrow though.
Any thoughts on it stating 0 on downstream output power?

There is a clue as to why the speed has dropped - the number of errors going on.
Try forcing the modem to use JUST ADSL2 mode it may provide a more stable service.

0 on downstream output power must be a problem with communications between the router and the DSLAM, probably a chipset interoperability issue. The same sort of thing that leads to no change in signal loss but an increase in the reported loss in some combinations.

yarwell, would it be worth getting a new router? I'm using an old Voyager 2110 that I've had for years with no problems before.
ISP is Aquiss.

is it an LLU service - not sure what Aquiss resell these days - if so try to find the router that gets on best with their LLU provder's kit.
