Graphics card

[link to this post]

Hi there

I am not having much joy with cooling fans at the moment!!

The last couple of days when the PC has been switched on a loud noise is coming from the motherboard. I think it is coming from the graphics card fan (ASUS EN9400GT). I fitted the card a couple of months ago and all seemed fine. When I shut down and restart the noise stops. The graphics card is quite close to the sound card, so I don't know if the fan is catching the back of the sound card.

I am not sure what the solution is? Any ideas?

If the stock cooler is causing problems, you could try replacing it; http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupi...

Hi 12eason

Thanks for the reply. The fan sounds like it is catching on something. I hope it hasn't failed as the GPC card is not that old!!

Old thread. Old problem.

The graphics card fan has been loud each time the PC is switched on over the last week. Once the machine is up and running all is good.

Should I be concerned? Is there a fix for this problem? Does anyone else suffer from noisy graphics card fans?

Thanks.

Switch off the machine - discharge yourself from any static electricity (touch radiator), open up the machine and firstly check to see if the fan is touching the sound card. if not remove the graphics card and check for dust and remove any.

Once cleaned reseat graphics card and then power back up ..
